BBQ
Held on Sunday 13th August 2006
at Stockbury Village Hall
.

Last year's weather was warm and sunny, this years weather turned out to rather damp. Heavy rain on Saturday and overcast skies and more rain early on Sunday meant we had to use the contingency plan and switch from the field to the hall. The team set about the task of preparing the food with Jo and Brenda on roll slicing and others in the kitchen cooking burgers and sausages meant the first batches were ready as members started to arrive. There were plenty of rolls, salad, burgers, sausages and sauces for every on to enjoy.

It was not long before the hall started to fill and in the end a quick count revealed forty five members and friends were in attendance..

Looking round the hall everyone was tucking in and enjoying the food.  There was plenty to go round and Mick was seen circulating with a plate of sausages trying to encourage people to eat more.

Following the sausages and burgers we had a range of desserts, tea or coffee was also available.

Information booklets and letters from various charities were on display in the hall thanking the club for the donations we have made to them.

The winning BBQ ticket number prize was announced, a voucher which was won by Norman.
Anne then followed on with the result of the name the dog competition.
We then started the draw for the monster raffle which ended up taking about 45 minutes due the large number of prizes and people who already won generously putting tickets back. Names like Norman, Gloria and Brenda seemed to keep being called. The raffle did very well raising £123 also the name the dog competition raised £33.50. We would like to thank all who donated prizes including the following companies Gullivers Pet Shop, High Street, Sittingbourne, J D News, Quinton Road, Sittingbourne and Triogens, London Road Trading Estate, Sittingbourne.

With the raffle finally completed our chairman Mike Cottell thanked everybody for supporting the event, hoped they had enjoyed themselves. He also thanked all those who had helped in the organising and on the day.
