Stockbury Dog Club

Christmas Dinner
A Christmas meal was organized at Stockbury Village hall
Members came from far and wide in answer to the call

The Village Hall was heaving with laughter and with fun
the members were all standing up the night had just begun

Mike Cottel the Chairman gave words of thanks and praise
for all the work we had done this year and all the money raised

Mick Bingham the Secretary stumbled to the stage
saying I would like to thank you all for your support in many ways
but I just can’t remember why I think it’s just my age

The Treasurer a little lass who’s name I can’t recall
stood up to say some words so we put her on a stool
Her face I can remember from Sundays in the rain
and I remember someone saying this is just a Payne

Jo Stevens with Brenda the raffles organizes
with help from the members donating many prizes

Then with the raffle drawn and to our surprise
Tony Carpenter owns up to eating all the Pies

To mention you all would take some time
so I picked on a few to put in this rhyme

Don’t take offence if your not here
I’ll catch you all through out the year
At training ?
Or walking ?
Or even in the Pub

Merry Christmas to you all
