Stockbury Dog Club Christmas Dinner 2006

The evening was opened by our chairman Mike Cottell welcoming the fifty six members and guests and hoping they all had an enjoyable evening. The meal was soup followed by roast turkey with assorted vegetables followed by Christmas pudding then mince pies plus cheese & biscuits. A choice of red or white wine, continually topped up by Mike, or soft drink was available plus a variety of drinks people brought along. The lovely table decorations were again arranged by Jo.
Balloons gained faces and names, the one next to Norman was named "quietly" supposedly because it did not say anything.

A short and impromptu training cabaret from one of the tables ended in the sit or was it the down or fall down? Good one Kim.
This was the third year we have held the dinner in the hall, this time the table layout was changed from long table lines to tables of ten which allowed for more access and dancing nearer the stage. This seemed to be a successful improvement for us and our caterers. The committee will be interested to know which layout is preferred by members for next year.
Looking around the various tables everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The raffle this year was organised by Jo and Brenda with the draw taking place throughout the evening. There was also a prize for the winning dinner entry ticket which was won by Gloria and as can be seen in the photo Norman is keen to see what his wife had won.

Phil again provided excellent entertainment with a range of music and songs keeping the evening going with a swing. The evening finally came to a close at about 11:30pm.

Thanks to all the organising team for putting on another enjoyable event and trust you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
