| Walks Thanks to Anne and Terry for arranging the walks enjoyed by all who took part. |
|
Five Walks Completed July For the first walk we went to the
Woodland Trust Area at Hucking and had a lovely meal at the Hook and Hatchet
afterwards. Our third outing was a 6.5 mile walk from Upnor, along the beach,
through to Hoo and back to Upnor through fields and woods. Stopped at a pub
halfway and again when we got back to Upnor. September Fifth and final walk was at Capstone Country Park near Rochester. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

| Newsletters Thanks to Simon for producing the newsletters. |
|
| Newsletter one At our last committee meeting it was suggested that ‘someone’ should write a News Letter! This was after a discussion on the club being seen as more than just a dog training club, it being also a social event for the handlers. I would be interested in your views as to what the newsletter should contain, until then I will make a first attempt!...................click for more Newsletter two Please don’t expect newsletters quite so frequent (last one was only a fortnight ago) but I really must say how proud I was of the display at the Lord Whiskey Animal Sanctuary on Saturday 12th June. ...................click for more Newsletter three A date for your Diary - 8th August. Display at Painters Forstal Village Fete. We did this last year and we are back by popular request, apparently everyone was very impressed with what they saw and was envious that their dog would not behave as well!!...................click for more Newsletter four Right, get out your diary! The last display of the year will be at Wouldham on the 25th September. Just follow the signs to Wouldham, Burham or Borstal from the back road out of Aylesford or from the bottom of the old Bluebell Hill road. It will be in the afternoon from 1pm onwards. It would be great to see all our dogs there supporting the club!............click for more --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

The purpose of the club giving demonstrations is to show how the club’s objectives to teach pet dogs basic obedience and to work socially with each other are achieved. We were invited to a number of fetes during the summer and the club was able to attend all of them.
|
|||
| Fetes attended in 2004 were: | |||

|

| Depending on club members availability the demonstrations at these fetes generally consisted of: | |||
| Introduction | Simon | ||
| One handler and dog demonstrating basic obedience. |
Simon with Jo Mick with Maisie Roger with Ben |
||
| One handler working two dogs demonstrating basic obedience. | Roger with Ben and Lucy | ||
| One handler and dog demonstrating basic agility. | Roger with Ben | ||
| Several handlers with their dogs simulating an intermediate training session. | Kris (Trainer) Lou with Sadie Christine with Basil Sue with Mia Anne with Mizzy
|
||
| Synchronised obedience display by club’s display team. |
Roger with Ben Ros with Lucy Jo with Rufus Brenda with Chester Mary with Sam Janet with Puffin Julie with Jack Terry with Alfie Brian with Vinnie Pat with Zac |

The organisers of the fetes and people attending them were complimentary about the demonstration which typically lasted about 30 minutes. Simon did the commentary making a really good job of a difficult task. Thanks to all the members who took part and the ones that came along to support the events. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
